What I Think About Social Media For Teenager
Social media has given teens the ability to instantly connect with others and share their lives through photos, videos and status updates. Teens themselves describe these platforms as a key tool for connecting and maintaining relationships, being creative, and learning more about the world. But they also must contend with more negative aspects of social media use, such as drama and bullying or feeling pressure to present themselves in a certain way.
The advantages of social media, it can develop better social skill for teenager. Social media can make us easy connect with the other people for another world, we can easily make a new friend from social media. Social media can make us feel less isolated because in social media, there's no border that can restrict us to communicate with another people. Social media can be a globalization tools that we can learn about new cultural and societal ideas and issues from another country.
Still, we cannot ignore the negative effects of social media use, It can lead to anxiety, provide a breeding ground for bullying, and influence bad behavior. Oftentimes, teens are sensitive. Their brains are still developing, and their mental/emotional health is vulnerable, just one cruel comment left on an Instagram picture can send them into a negative tailspin. They’re at a heightened risk of experiencing anxiety and depression as a result of this form of bullying, or as a result of FOMO: the fear of missing out. When teens see other people on social media doing things they want to do but aren’t or can’t, their mental health can suffer. Finally, kids and teens are extremely impressionable, and social media may inspire them to engage in troublesome behavior.
To sum up, we think social media can seems like double edge sword. In one side it can bring us those advantages and in another side it can bring us those disadvantages. Those sides depend to how we use the social media.
